Global Location Numbers (GLNs) are front and center for those who see the far reaching benefits to supply chain efficiencies based on GS1 standards.
The first GLN workshop of 2012 is scheduled February 7 at the Hyatt Tampa Regency, Tampa, Florida. The workshop is offered at no cost by the co-sponsoring organizations: AHRMM, GS1 Healthcare US®, HSCA, and SMI. These workshops are modeled on the successful efforts in 2011 and will be offered in various regions to provide as much opportunity to participation as possible.
The Workshop is designed specifically for data managers, electronic data interchange (EDI) professionals, and other healthcare supply chain professionals with front-line responsibility for implementing the GLN in their organizations.
Participants will learn directly from the healthcare provider and supplier professionals who have experience successfully implementing the GLN and leave with the information needed to begin implementation within your organization. The workshop training will feature:
• Creating a GLN team and strategy • Establishing a GLN hierarchy • How to reconcile GLNs with your GPOs • Reconciling GLNs with distributors • Live tutorial on the GLN Registry for Healthcare® • Using GLNs in EDI transactions • How to leverage your ERP system • Declaring GLN Readiness • Hands-on personal review of individual hierarchies
When and where?
• Tuesday, February 7, 2012 • 8:30 am - 2:00 pm • Hyatt Tampa Regency 211 North Tampa Street Tampa, FL 33602 T: +1 813.225.1234
Space is still available, but will be limited to the first 60 registrants. Participants are responsible for any travel or accommodations. Rooms are available at the Hyatt Tampa Regency.
Registrants are encouraged to bring a Wifi-ready laptop. The last hour of the workshop will be devoted to hands-on help in logging into the Registry, reviewing hierarchies and locations, and validating any GLNs participants come ready to confirm. The online registration allows participants to identify their GPOs who will help prepare them ahead of time. Consistent with the HSCA/CHeS campaign, It Just Takes One, each and every validated GLN gets the US healthcare system closer to an efficient and cost-effective supply chain and lays the ground work for a standards-based approach to patient safety.
