HIGPA member Premier healthcare alliance, a charlotte-based group purchasing organization, and HCA, parent of Healthtrust Group Purchasing (HPG), a Nashville-based HIGPA member GPO, were both named to the list of the Worlds Most Ethical (WME) Companies in 2011.
The WMEs are published in Ethisphere magazine, the quarterly publication of the Ethisphere Institute, a leading international think-tank “dedicated to the creation, advancement and sharing of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability.”
Qualifying companies from multiple industries were asked to fill out an in-depth survey questionnaire regarding their ethics and compliance program, governance and corporate responsibility.
For members of the Healthcare Group Purchasing Industry Initiative (HGPII), this process is nothing new. HGPII Member GPOs—all HIGPA members, including Premier and HPG—annually fill out an in-depth questionnaire detailing this very information and post it to HGPII’s website.
HIGPA is proud to know that GPOs continue to be the most transparent industry in healthcare, and congratulates Premier and HCA on this distinction.
